With all the JW changes & adjustments that appear in this new August 2024 Watchtower Study Edition there is one expression missing that normally goes hand in hand when WT comes up with revisions and changes to doctrines and teachings...the missing expression is 'New Light'. Strangely, what is also missing in this August 2024 magazine is any reference to Proverbs 4:18.
Begs the question: Is the WTBTS finally getting it right & distancing itself from the thousands of times it's misused and it's misapplication of this scripture???

(Assuming this leaked August 2024 Watchtower is legit)
Wow!...Lesson Article 33 (page 14) 'How The Congregation Can Imitate Jehovah’s View Of Sinners' reveals just how the WTBTS organization has screwed with millions of people's lives for decades and decades!
After decades and decades (since the 1950s) of disfellowshipping & shunning hundreds of thousands, easily into the millions, of rank & file members & making them wait over a year, then requiring 'wrongdoers' to summit reinstatement letters after reinstatement letters before accepting them back into the fold...finally the WTBTS gets it right!
It took nearly 75 years for WT Leadership Governing Body to realize that the Apostle Paul had instructed the 1st century Corinthian Judicial Committee of older men who disfellowshipped a man for adultery (1 Cor. 5:1-5) to initiate a welcoming back for this man into the congregation only after a few months (2 Cor. 2:5-8) of being disfellowshipped! And get this...the adulter didn't have to take any initiative like groveling and submitting reinstatement requests! The Apostle Paul, in so many words instructed the Judicial Committee to get off their asses & welcome the sinner back with open arms...and only after a few months of discipline mind you! -

Really...in WT world scheming to end a marriage is one of Jehovah’s Witnesses top 3 worse sins next to CSA & Apostasy? I know CSA cases & related concerns are very problematic among Jehovah’s Witnesses and the ex-JW community (aka Apostasy) is growing by leaps & bounds. But was it that necessary to specify 'Scheming To End A Marriage' among the top 3 disfellowshipping offenses unless it's really an epidemic among Jehovah’s Witnesses?
This is how I would summarize the 2024 August Watchtower Study Edition:
If you're a current JW...not only should you keep a close watch for pedophiles in your congregations...but there must a great deal of JWs who are on the fence...questioning and having serious doubts about their belief system. And if you're a current married JW how intact is your marriage?
Wow...just Wow!

I'm hearing that most 2024 English JW Regional Conventions held at the Long Beach Convention Center in Southern California are averaging in the low 4,000s even though the Convention Center itself can hold upwards of 13,500.
I've also heard that many of the JWs who are attending these conventions and viewing all the empty seats are asking themselves: "Where Is Everybody!" 🤣

Should Women Be Given Authority In God's Congregation?
by Golden4Altar inshould women be given authority in god's congregation?yorww congregation manuscript #1009in the beginning, god created man and woman, created both them in his "image," and according to his likeness.
this means, of course, jehovah god originally endowed both man and woman with the same capabilities and qualities of his own likeness.
thus, man and woman have the same god-given abilities, gifts and attributes so as to reflect all the "fruits of the spirit" and godly qualities in their lives, if they so desire.

I think the title of this opening post should read:

Are the halls of the Kingdom filling up, are they the same as before the pandemic or are they emptying?
by LaFrancia ini open a new topic, to find out how it's going in your area.
from what i see as a southern european in my constituency the situation is patchy.. the congregation where i am now has 30% old people on zoom but also young couples with almost all their cameras off.
no increase but a slight decrease in the total number of publishers.. circuit assemblies: before covid you couldn't find a free seat if you arrived 10 minutes before the start.

Just talked to a friend from another local JW congregation with similar size congregation...150 to 160 total publishers. This is how he described this past Sunday's meeting:
1) First 6 rows practically
empty...everyone was seated in the back rows.2) 75 were in attendance...in-person.
3) A lot of new folks...people he didn't know.
4) 45 were on Zoom.
5) The rest (upwards of 50+ publishers) were unaccounted for.
Who gives a rat's ass about other religions & their attendance figures...we here on this forum should be elated that Watchtower World is bleeding-out...Yaaaaay! -

The name Watchtower and the name Jehovah’s Witnesses for decades have been synonymous with the words cult, toxic, cruel, harsh...words in that vein. Today another word that is synonymous with WT & JWs is 'decline'. Adults and families are no longer drawn to this dangerous organization.
WT is no longer expecting growth from an outside source...the general public. No, currently WT is banking on it's growth to come from within...toddlers & children. They've been heavily investing in children indoctrination for the past 10 to 15 years.
Watchtower also stopped investing in facilities (Kingdom Halls) that at one time could accommodate gatherings or congregations of upwards of 200+ members. Today large Kingdom Halls are being sold off due to low meeting attendance or due to congregations, for whatever reason, that are shrinking in size. Where it is not feasible to sell off large Kingdom Halls, WT is restructuring surrounding congregations...merging & consolidating them for the appearance of fuller attendance and eliminating numerous non-performing congregations in the process resulting in many disgruntled JW rank and file having to travel longer distances to attend in-person meetings.
Much smaller Kingdom Halls, where warranted are being built that will accommodate much smaller congregations...75 members or less.
So back to the opening post questions:
Are Kingdom Halls filling-up? No!
Are Kingdom Halls emptying? Yes! -

The August 2024 Watchtower controversy and potential further changes
by ukpimo inas an educated guess, the august 2024 watchtower may be delayed because 2 complicated subjects need to be discussed in this issue which haven't yet been approved to be included in the revised shepherding textbook.
perhaps the revised shepherding textbook must be finalised before this watchtower is released publicly.. the 2 subjects may be as follows:.
how to shepherd and appoint brothers based on the removal of the hour requirements, getting to know the brothers instead (does this mean prioritising appointing men who have auxiliary pioneered during the co visit and campaigns or men who are regular pioneers?).

Slimboyfat says: People always makes there assertions on the forum, but I see no evidence for it. Kingdom Halls are pretty full. There are a few more JWs who stay home and watch on Zoom after the pandemic, mainly older ones, but overall attendance is, if anything, slightly up.
Slim speaks out of both sides of his mouth. He first accuses others of making assertions on this forum about low JW Kingdom Hall attendance. Then Slim makes a wild assertion himself implying Kingdom Halls are full with no evidence to backup his exaggeration. The truth is that large Kingdom Halls that once seated upwards of 200+ people are being sold off due to low meeting attendance and are being replaced with much smaller facilities that seat less than 75 people to give the appearance of full capacity. Another alternative to solving low JW meeting attendance is to merge 4 or 5 surrounding congregations into 3 to 4 congregations, again to give the appearance of full capacity. BTW...many of the Kingdom Halls that are being sold are purchased by other churches that are expanding...go figure!
Another wild assertion Slim makes is that "There are a few more JWs who stay home and watch on Zoom..." The truth is that COs & congregation elders are constantly guilt tripping large numbers of Zoom JWs to get with the program & fill-up the Kingdom Halls. WT even has Tony Morris on a video before he was shit-canned pestering Zoom JW attendees about getting back to in-person meetings.Another wild assertion Slim makes is that mainly older ones are on Zoom meetings & that overall attendance is, if anything, slightly up. This too is a bunch of bullshit! I have access to several congregation Zoom meeting IDs & pass codes in my neck-of-the-woods. When I visit these different congregations on Zoom the numbers are mostly in the mid to high 30s (often it'll reach 40+) in attendance of all ages, young & old alike...a large number are individuals who are otherwise relatively healthy...many elders & ministerial servants and wives are on Zoom...many healthy pioneers as well...and most everyones' camera is off...I mean Zoom is dark...maybe 1 or 2 cameras are one.
Guaranteed...JW World is having their own pandemic of low numbers & low meeting attendance worldwide!

...I heard directly this past weekend from someone in Bethel that as speculated elsewhere on this site it was a health reason, it was his choice to step down...
Tony Morris became a liability to the WTBTS as a GB member. He got shit-canned!
